Lesson 1

Let's use this sentence as an example:

She walked over to the sink, got a green glass, and quickly put it in the dishwasher.

Select Simple Large Merge from the button on the Right Half of the screen, or from the Create Menu.

Then you pick words in that sentence by clicking on the words as they show up on the screen. The word you pick is a word that you see as being a good place for your sentence to be merged into by another word. That new word will then become a new idea for your original sentence.

She walked over to the sink, got a (green) glass, and (quickly) put it in the dishwasher.

Here we are using "green" as a great place to start merging. The parenthesis around "good" in the example is just a way of showing you that we will use "good" to merge from. If we choose also "quickly," we can find a way she put the glass into the dishwasher. You are allowed up to five words to use from your sentence but can use any amount up to five that you choose. If you select one you don't want, simply pick it again and it will be not be highlighted.

After you click, "OK," you are then ready to find Word Categories to merge with. You simply click on any of the Word Categories and you will see the words contained in that list. We are going to select the Word Category "colors" for the first word "green." We do that by selecting "Add to List" when "colors" is highlighted. Let's also choose "adjdimen" to describe the glass in a different way. Again, we select the Word Category "adjdimen" and select "Add to List." When we are done selecting Word Categories for that word, we select "OK."

Now we are prompted for our next word we selected in our sentence. "Quickly" comes up We see that "advcmdy" is a good choice, as is "advidea." In the same way we selected the Word Categories for the word "green" we select these two categores.

Now with those two choices made simply select OK. ParaMind knows that your done choosing your words so produces your idea list.

Here are some selections from it:
